HIV — Some Rashes

PRIMARY (ACUTE) HIV

The rash, which may occur in up to a third of cases, is morbilliform (literally “measles like), i.e. maculopapular.  It may be prominent or subtle.

 

RASHES OCCURRING IN ASYMPTOMATIC LATENT PERIOD

Severe Seborrheic Dermatitis

       

Eosinophilic Folliculitis

Crops of pruritic papules, usually face, upper torso, upper arms

         

Kaposi’s Sarcoma

Palpable purple lesions, may infiltrate deeply.
