Tricky when occurring in undiagnosed, occult Type-1 Diabetics
Accompanied by nausea / vomiting; may be severe enough to mimic acute abdomen
Polydypsia & Polyuria usually present, but you have to ask about them
Urine dipstick for large ketones (and glucose) strongly suggestive
