Allergic Rhinopharyngitis (causing Sore Throat)

Consider as sore throat becomes a chronic complaint, & work-up all negative

• Nasal Sx (congestion, sneezing) may or may not be present.

Give a therapeutic (i.e. diagnostic) trial:

• loratadine or other antihistamine, plus nasal steroid.

If no help, consider empiric Tx for GERD

Still no help, explore mood symptoms, & bail out to ENT.
