Herniated Disk

Suggested when back pain radiates down a leg

• Dermatomal paresthesias
• More likely if Positive straight leg raise

More serious if:

• Unilateral motor weakness (esp. test 1^st Toe dorsiflex & plantarflex)
• Objective anesthesia in symptomatic dermatome
• Unilataral decreased DTR (esp. Achilles)
