Diagnosis of exclusion, when there’s just a prominent cough, nothing else:
- No URI symptoms
- No fever
- No true dyspnea (which exacerbates upon exertion)
- Normal lung exam
Consider Pertussis if cough is paroxysmal, especially if there’s post-tussive vomiting.
