Nasal Polyps

White / gray growths in the nose.

• Maybe visible by direct vision
• If large, may cause bulging of nose externally
• May be too internal to be visualized on exam

Easily seen on non-contrast sinus CT

• Order CT on pts with non-resolving nasal congestion despite Nasal Steroid + non-sedating Antihistamine

Consider Triad: Nasal Polyps + Asthma + Aspirin Hypersensitivity

• Warn asthmatic with nasal polyps re potential aspirin / NSAID allergy (fatalities have occurred)
