Up to 90% of Sore Throats may be viral
Suspect if ≥2 of the following criteria:- afebrile
- no tonsillar exudate
- absence of tender anterior cervical or tonsillar adenopathy
- presence of cough or rhinitis
Negative antigen-detection “Rapid Strep Test”: high predictive value
